Irish Whiskey Question

whiskey Jun 15, 2007 01:41 PM

I just inherited a bottle of Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey bottled in 1996. The cork is beginning to disintegrate but its still sealed. Any idea of its worth?

I'll go you one better . . . it's worth only what you would pay to replace it. It's a fine whiskey; enjoy it! But it's only worth the $120-150 if you'd be willing to pay that much for another bottle after you've finished this one.

But definitely drink it -- don't sell it.

NOW, is most definitely the correct answer! Hey, it's a dirty job, etc., etc....

Only If you don't beat me to it, my Midleton brother.

If I knew where it was, I'd be on my way.

like the other poster said, about 100-150 or so, but if the cork is starting to go I'd drink this NOW.

New bottles retail in the 120-150 dollar range; hopefully you don't have leakage and can enjoy and recork it.
