DQ has a unique franchising plan, with different degrees and lots of freedom on the local level. I've been to some in interesting buildings and one in Kittaning, PA that had people driving 30 miles from local towns (with their own DQs) because they swore this one was the best. What unique things have you witnessed at Dairy Queen?

Can't say i have noticed anything recently at the ones here in my area of Texas.
Are you talking about both the architecture and food? I think the ones here serve breakfast tacos, but been so long since I have been to one,I can't say.
What's funny is my sister lives in Piermont ,NY, and apparently they now have Dairy Queen up by her.She mentioned they saw some ads on tv,i think for Sonic or another chain we have here. She told me that she and Ross, her boyfriend went and got blizzards.Wonder if prices are higher there than here in Texas.

In college, I used to go to a DQ within walking distance of my apartment that I called "The Jesus Dairy Queen" because, man-alive, the place was like a Catholic church that happened to have soft-serve and Dilly Bars. There were Chick tracts available at the counter and on each of the tables, and you could eat your Blizzard sitting beneath a crucifix. There were religious plaques all over the walls and scary, pre-Stepford, brain-washed teenaged girls behind the counter. I expected pews as seating, but sadly, it was just the same old orange-schemed benches.

I sure do miss that place!
