best street tamale

got the best street tamale today at 11am in front of the Mexican Consulate, at 27 East 39th Street. the tamale lady was set up right out front and everyone was chowing down on them. she sells them out of several coolers. the tamale was darker yellow and pork inside, nice medium spicy flavor. I hope she is there in a few days.

I like the stand, on Saturday's, at 106th and Amsterdam Ave; good tamales, hot sauce, good soup, etc

Is there still a tamale lady at W 38/39th on the west side of 8th Ave? I used to love the ones they called Sweet tamales (with pineapple). This was a few years ago when I worked near there.

I used to buy tamales from a woman on 39th and 8th but that was years ago. I still look for her if I'm ever in that area but I haven't seen her. The best tamale I had recently was from the taco truck on 14th Street and 8th ave. It's there after 8pm most nights.

Yes, I just went to her last week. I think they are $1.25 each. Usually has pork, chicken and cheese varieties. The tamales are great.
