Desperately seeking good luncheon place east of the GTA

I am at a lost in trying to locate a good luncheon place ( good food and ambience ) east of Scarborough or Markham by tomorrow. Prefer western food and willing to travel as far as Pickering. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
It's a bit of a chain-restaurant-mecca out here if you're looking for western food. We've been living temporarily in Pickering for the last 6 months and when we crave something other than Asian food, we end up at places like Canyon Creek or Milestone's (both in Scarborough).
Although, we did end up trying Burbs Bistro (http://www.burbsbistro.com/home.html), which is about as good as it gets out here. The atmosphere is nice -- appropriate for a business lunch, the food is mediocre, and surprisingly the prices are not that far off from downtown prices (from lack of any real competition, perhaps?). While I wouldn't recommend it as a chowfind by any means, it sounds like it might suit your purposes.
If you're okay with a bit more of a "pub-like" atmosphere, you can try Massey's (http://www.dine.to/masseys). Again, food is not anything to rave about, but it is, at the very least, consistently edible.
Further down the street from Massey's is The Waterfront Bistro (http://www.waterfrontbistro.com/home.php), which has pricier and only marginally better food than Burb's Bistro, but there is no denying the draw of lakeside dining.
Curious to know where you end up going and your opinion of the place you choose in the end. Please report back! Good luck!
I work out there, and it is difficult. I like the Black Dog Pub (www.blackdogpub.com) - some typical pub dishes and some not so typical ones. There is actually quite a bit of emphasis on healthy options. Service is friendly and prompt. It is very busy at lunch, so not sure if you can swing an off-time arrival or a reservation.
