El Cerrito DMV Taco Truck

  • 8

I've been looking for a good burrito in El Cerrito, Albany, and Berkeley for a long time.
Yesterday, I had a carnitas (what else?) super burrito, w/o beans at the taco truck outside the El Cerrito DMV. It had some green in it, and they fill the bag with chips, $6. It was as good, or better, than anything I have had anywhere else in the East Bay. I'll be back!!!

  1. Thanks for the tip, been avoiding that area w/ all of the City Hall construction going on.

Usually get my burrito fix at La Bamba (nr EC and Richmond border) or down on 23rd in Richmond.

Seriously this is a good truck.

I had a carne asada taco with hot salsa (the other option is mild which I haven't tried)

Nice beefy meat and the salsa was flecked with red, orange and green seeds. Also the presentation was nice and the radishes were fanned out on the neatly arranged plate.

Didn't get any chips, but they seemed the bagged variety, so no loss. Theyh don't make aqua fresca but there were bottles of some brand of horchata.

Nice people too. When I asked if I should get carnitas or carne asada, he said steak in a tone that wrapped around the words like a hug ... who wouldn't prefer steak, after all?

    2. I wholeheartedly agree with the EC truck, but have you been to the Sinaloa truck yet? hmmm??

23rd and International - I've been harassing Carnitas to go there for months.

            Adrienne156,
You have never mentioned it. You harassed me to go to Zamarrano on Foothill. You also never mentioned the EC DMV truck.

Tacos Pescado were great at Sinaloa, but I'd get the sauce on the side. I like Zamorano on Int'l/High St for their breakfast burritos. How's Zamorano on Foothill?

                Carnitas,
I circled the Sinaloa truck on the article the Chronicle/WCT(?) did a few months back. The truck on the right with the really good al pastor...? I'll get you the directions. Oh, and I guess I failed on the EC DMV tip.. I'm fired.

                Btw, welcome back!!
