Anchor brewery / beer in San Francisco

I have a reservation for the Anchor brewery tour - how is it? I am dragging my girlfriend there during our vacation, so don't want to use up brownie points if it's not really worth , since it's a bit out of the way. If that doesn't pan out, any recs for great beer bars with lots of good local selections, or will I be able to find a good selection at any decent restaurant? Thanks!

Is a distillery visit part of the tour, too?

      no. the distillery isn't

The Anchor tour is great, especially if you're into beer in a big way, and you get to sample a lot of free beer at the end. I reccomend being sure you have some food in you beforehand, and go get some right after!

earn extra points in case your girlfriend is not a beer girl by getting a reservation for a really nice lunch or dinner afterwards.

My husband got e through the door by first taking me on the Jelly Belly factory tour in Fairfield. Can you say "free jelly Bean tasting bar"?

Great beer spots all over SF, too. try 21st Amendment.

But once I did the Anchor tour, I found I really enjoyed it. of course, I live with a hombrewer and beer jusge, so I have evolved into someone with an interest in all things beer.
