Duel: Montreal's own "Kitchen Stadium"

Not sure what to make of the concept, but a new restaurant in Montreal is always welcome.
Being the curious sort, I would probably go, just look for the one dressed like Chairman Kaga.

"Allez cuisine"!

Oh wow. This sounds like SO much fun! I can't wait to try it out.

I think this a fab idea! I was so sad to see Area go, but I am happy to see something truly different taking its place. Montreal is over run with canard and foie gras these days---I will definitely be taking in the duel!

I passed by last night and it looked pretty busy. Has anyone been yet?

Passed by about two weeks ago and it still wasn't open, so now that I know it is, we will definitely check it out very soon. Thanks for posting!

I checked the website and don't see any details either. I haven't passed by down there lately, but I don't think it is opened yet......maybe they have hit a glitch?

It has apparently opened. It was just reviewed on Montreal Foodie - http://montrealfoodie.squarespace.com/
a bit of a disappointing review, considering.

Hmmm, we will give it a whirl anyhow, just because the concept is unlike anything else going on in town. It saddens me to read the reviewer list AREA as a more worthy resto---it was our favourite in the city, and I still can't believe it has closed!

They are taking over the old Area local on Amherst. I read on a cyberpresse blog that they won't be ready to open before august. They have a temporary website, guess it will be updated when the opening date will be determined.

            These look interesting:

"Mr. Biron, for example, will do a seared foie gras appetizer served on a bed of dates, with a sauce of coriander and soy milk infused with sake.

Mr. Godbout's foie gras will be prepared torchon-style and covered in raspberry jelly, served like a bonbon on a stick of rock candy."

But the seating arrangments and the bathroom videos and the dining room performances seem a bit too gimmicky.

I wonder how much all of this will cost.
