Strawberries!

Oui, les fraises sont arrivées!

Most of the berries at the Jean-Talon market were too large, but I found some tiny sweet ones (think it was chez Trottier; in any event at the last aisle to the west, at the south). Yum.

Yee-haw! I was wondering when they'd be ready. Got an amazing case of organic strawbs from the market last year and can't wait to do the same again.

A local organic farmer Ferme Richard Roger at 139 rue Principal in Ste Dorothee in Laval is having a pick-your-own strawberry day this Saturday, June 23rd at10:00am . It is being organized by the store Ecollegey. If you are interested contact Michelle Holliday @ 514-299-9884 or the farm directly @ 450-689-4882.

I haven't tried them, but my friend ordered 15 crates of organic strawberries (20$ a crate - that seems like an exceptionally good deal, she may have gotten a quantity discount) from the following:

For the many non-French speakers out there, Ms. Gatta's first sentence is an announcement that the local strawberry season has begun.
