Any suggestions for a nice dinner in Downtown KCMO? I have only one evening.

Majestic Steakhouse at about 10th and Broadway.

        +1 for Le Fou Frog.

        Plenty of choices....

I'd go with Lidia's in the Crossroads district or Piropo's a short cab or drive across the river in Briarcliff as my absolute first choices. Then followed by Garozzo's in Columbus Park. Le Fou Frog (French), Majestic (Steak), Savoy (Steak and Seafood), Phillips Chophouse (Steak), and Mango Room (Carribean) are also good options.

I gave up on Majestic and the Savoy years ago. I know other's opinions may differ.

I'd recommend Pierponts in Union Station for an excellent all-around restaurant, Morton's in Crown Center for steaks, or The American Restaurant in Crown Center for upscale gourmet.

I'd go with my personal favorite, 1924 Main. The menu changes weekly, and I've never once been disappointed. http://www.kansascitymenus.com/1924main/

Depends on where you are staying, do you have a car, do you want to walk or take a cab.

These are all what I would consider as "downtown" though.

I'm not sure what you mean? I would consider 1924 Main as downtown.

The American Restaurant and Le Fou Frog are two of my favorites for a "nice dinner". I love 1924, as well - but prefer to go there for lunch.
