Coming to NY from Oakland

I'm staying on 31st and Park ave. What is good to eat around there? Also is there anywhere good to eat near Yankee Stadium after a night game. I'm going to watch the A's play the Yanks.

  1. There are lots of possibilities near where you are staying though I don't think you should limit yourself just to that neighborhood. That said, it would be helpful to have a few specifics. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner? Cuisine preferences? Casual vs. fancy? Per person budget? And tell us if that figure includes alcoholic beverages, tax & tip?

As regards eating near Yankee Stadium, since it's located in the Bronx, you need to post your query on the Outer Boroughs board. However, I will say this. I can't imagine going to the Stadium and not having a hot dog or two. I prefer the grilled ones, which you get at the inside concession stands, as opposed to the steamed ones that the guys come around the seats with. Also, the major food concession area on the main level has good deli sandwiches and fries. I would ignore everything else.

    1. Near your location:
      Ali Baba
      Penelope (for casual lunch/brunch)
      Shake Shack

      1. Definitely Artisinal--they even have their own cheese caves. Also, for drinks, try Silverleaf Lounge on the corner of 38th and Park. The martini's are a bit pricey, but they are well worth it. Go Yanks! ;)

        1. Artisanal is a favorite of mine and have had great meals for brunch, lunch and dinner! Also, you can get great Korean food in the area as well. As far as eating at the game, don't expect what we have in the Bay - no teriyaki chicken bowls, garlic fries or micro brews. The stadium food here is just franks, burgers and beer.

          Enjoy and GO A's!
