Hogan's Diner Orangeburg Rockland County

This is a terrific classic diner/coffee shop. I'm there two or three times a week for their eclectic lunch specials like Turkey Reuben or their "Italian Feast" (Chicken, Sausage, Red Peppers (no green), onions in a decent sauce over rice--kind of like Chicken Scarpiello), or Salmon in Dill Sauce, Hot Turkey Sandwich, Trout Almandine and so on. The portions are more than generous (I often have enough left over for dinner the following night) and service is swift and efficient. Lunch specials include dessert and soup or beverage, priced $7.95-$8.95. They also have the usual complement of burgers, (including turkey), and their roast turkey breast used in sandwiches and dinner is real, not some chemical concoction like so many diner places. Vegetables are OK, but limited in choice. French Fries are fabulous, but mashed potatoes are instant, about the only real flaw in this exceptional everyday dining/comfort food kind of place.
