Cupcakes near Grand Central

sfgirlie Jun 12, 2007 11:13 AM

I'm staying at the Alex Hotel (45th and 3rd ave) and want to get my friend birthday cupcakes or something equally celebratory - any ideas? The bakery needs to be open till 7pm at least because I am flying in that evening...

Buttercup Bake Shop isn't too far: http://www.buttercupbakeshop.com/contact_us.html
Unfortunately, it's only open at 8.

Crumbs is close and appears to be open at 7: http://www.crumbsbakeshop.com/locatio...
I don't like their cupcakes, though.

Little Pie Company in Grand Central has cupckaes that have gotten rave reviews from people that I know. The time I had them they were very moist, but something was missing. I'm wondering if it was just an off day for them.

Last few items I've gotten from Buttercup have been really disappointing and for some reason seemed old. I was a big fan of theirs until the last 6 months or so.....
