best bar/pub grub in Lowell 4 tuesday night

heading down to Lowell tonight. need a good pub with decent food. nothing special, a good burger would be all i really need but anything with a local specialty would be welcome. ethnic places would be cool too. the bar should not be too sketch and have a respectable number of taps.

Might be too late but the bar scene at Ricardo's is very nice! Little upscale, and small. "Friends" might pull a nice crowd too at the bar - Portuogese (sp?) - awesome food!

If you're looking just for beer, The Lowell Brewery Exchange, right near the Tsongas arena isn't bad. Their restaurant downstairs is reasonable, but their pub grub upstairs isn't very good at all. Beer, OTOH, is very good.

So, to sum up - Brewery Exchange - good pub, bad grub.

We have eaten at Cobblestones Bar just a few blocks up the hall. For the life of me I cannot remember what I had but I do remember the atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent and it was packed. Oh and my DH had the Reuben. He must have liked it cuz he cleaned his plate. LOL

thanks. i have been to Cobblestones too and liked it. i am still looking for more of a 'locals' place with maybe a interesting/ethnic menu, and of course, good beers.

The Old Court - central St decent pub food, and friendly bartending, Guinness on tap generally lively atmosphere,
Hookside Kelly's - Merrimack St - again decent pub food including pizza, lots of big screen tv's ben open less then a year - tap beer but not sure what,
Friends - Market St (across from SE Asia rest). fantastic Portugese food nice bar but nothing on tap. All of these are downtown Lowell.
