A Tasting Menu of Sorts, San Gabriel/Pasadena (a four-pronged lunch)

kevin Jun 11, 2007 06:54 PM

first it was off to the Stuffed Sandwich for a couple of beers and a turkey sandwich to wash it down with.

the beers were a good start in opening up the appetite.

then off to Luscious Dumplings for an order of dumplings and a coke.

Then off to Hawkin's burgers in Altadena for a fat chili cheeseburger. they got some good chili here. reminds me a little of B and R's but B$/R's is better in my opinion.

and lastly off to Fredo's for a Cheesteak with Cheez Whiz, and a side of the most delicious sweet peppers ever. also, they are cooking some cue up front so they're going to be adding a lot more stuff to the menu, not just philly related eats. looks like they were also running out of tasty cakes, which always kind of sucks. the owner (sporting a Yankees cap) grew up in Fresno but lived in Philly for quite a while and now brought the recipes back to Pasadena.

Wow, what time span are we talking here? That's a pretty high cph (calories per hour) rate!

it was just hopefully one of those infrequent chow days.
