The Palm- Sea Bright

I'd been wanting to try this restaurant- I love Vietnamese food- but was wary because it bills itself as Vietnamese/French and there are a number of items on the menu that are neither. We ordered some standards- spring rolls, papaya salad and bbq pork tenderloin- and they were pretty disappointing. This restaurant is in no way authentic. I could even be okay with that if the food were fabulous in some other way but it is not. I would avoid this place.

Hi Taste Test, I also had a disappointing experience at the Palm. I was looking forward to another asian restaurant in the area. Have had wonderful culinary experiences at Yumi in Sea Bright. Would love to compare notes on good restaurants in the area.

Seems like your instincts are on target. Every once in awhile there is a pleasant surprise in a fusion-y restaurant, but for the most part not. Too bad.

Me too. I was looking forward to trying it.
