Tribeca - SOHO, need recommendations for bagels and/or bakery cafes

NWPeter Jun 11, 2007 03:28 PM

We're staying in Tribeca for five nights and are looking for good spots to start the day. Any really good bagel places or bakery-cafes in the area? Any places in the area for truly excellent espresso? BTW, we're from Seattle and hate Starbucks.

The bakery at Bouley Market has some good looking pastries.

If you want to venture East Jack's Coffee on Front Street in Seaport North (fair trade, etc.). There is a Financier (French pastry) in the World Financial Center on the West Side (2 other locations downtown on the East side).

Go east. On the corner of lafayette street and walker street is a Vietnamese video store with a small takeout stand that sells vietnamese sandwiches and snacks with goood strong vietnamese coffee.

Ceci Cela on 166 Chambers St Btwn Greenwich St & W Bway is a cute little french pastry cafe
