Gelato in East Toronto (Scarborough)

Finnegan Jun 11, 2007 12:44 PM

Love the gelato at La Paloma in the west end, but after recently moving to Scarborough, I'm hoping to find a gelato place a little closer to home. Any recommendations?

I haven't heard or seen of a good gelato place in Scarborough, if there is I would also like to know. Til that time though, current place I go to is Hollywood Gelato in Leaside, on Bayview a few lights south of Eglinton on the west side.

A lot of people are raving about IL Gelatiere on Mt. Pleasant & Hillsdale (just south of Eglington). Their flavours vary as well (we went twice in the last 2 sundays). The grapefruit (aka Pomelo) was awesome, but wasn't there the following weekend. Way better than La Paloma and Hollywood. It's a 20 mins car ride for us and is totally worth it if you love gelato.

I don't think I've seen any gelato place worthwhile in Scarborough though.

Ed's has really great gelato, on Queen Street East, in the Beaches.

I second Ed's in the east part of the beach, on Queen.

There's also another gelato place that opened on Queen, can't remember the name. Ed's definitely has great ice cream, haven't tried their gelato.

If you mean Milano, I don't recommend its artificial flavours.
