Have you ever been to a place where you feel you could just sit and linger at the bar all night and be perfectlly content and relaxed? Up till now that spot was reserved for Gramercy Tavern but I have to say Bar Stuzzichini may be my new favorite.

Stopped in for a drink on Saturday night around 7:00 and there were only 2 other people in there. I ordered a glass of Italian white wine. They give you a GREAT pour which is always nice. My SO was excited because they had Saison du Pont on tap.

We didn't order anything to eat because we had a dinner scheduled afterwards but everything about the place made us wish we didn't have to leave. The bar itself is gorgeous and the dining room has beautiful red walls and pretty lights. They played Frank Sinatra the entire time we were there and the staff were warm and friendly. I was really surpried there were so few people there. Hopefully this place will catch on-I would hate to see it go. This is a great addition to the nieghborhood and I will be going back soon to try out the food.

I was there last week with a small group and we ordered just the cheeses and meats and some wine. Everything was delicious. They have a ricotta with honey dribbled on it that was so tasty. The menu is a bit limited as compared to a place like Otto. I have yet to try any of the vegetable small plates or entrees.

The atmosphere is fantastic. And I like that it's so quite - no need to fight for a seat at the bar or for the batender's attention. I have no doubt that the place will catch on - so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

I agree it's a great addition to the neighborhood. And it's so close to the movie theater on 19th street - which will make for a great date night.

Went for lunch yesterday. Love the atmosphere, it's not too loud, so would be a great date place. Menu is relatively limited. We split four of the appetizers (stuzzichini): fried artichokes, sardine, cod fritters and octopus. All were exceedingly well-made with quality ingredients and the fried food was not greasy. Two entrees were a sausage patty sandwich with some sort of onion/pepper creation on top and the pizza rustica. Both were definite winners. Also had a side of the grilled radicchio.

Service was friendly and well-meaning but the kinks are not ironed out yet -- they kept removing our bread and oil and other plates too quickly and the waitress did not know the dish ingredients. But that is just a matter of time.

As mentioned, the wine pours were very generous and a great selection. We're going back for sure.

wonderful food! the best eggplant parm of my life -- who knew? and a chicken to die for. i never order chicken, but i'd been tipped off, and this was one hell of a roast chicken. the stuzzichini are all amazing. the involtini melt in the mouth, the fried artichokes are perfection. and those chickpeas on toast: wow.

the bartender was a welcoming and knowledgable guy -- could have hung out all night.

not so sure about the decor, but after a few glasses of vino and all that good food, it's not an issue.
