Pomodoro in Brookline - Yum!

I tried Pomodoro in Brookline Village Saturday night for the first time. We walked in at 6, and they were able to seat our party of 4 right away, although they said they would need the table back in an hour. However, we never felt rushed, and our meals were fantastic.
Two kinds of bread, with olive oil and olives. The cheesy foccacia was tasty, but I preferred the drier ciabatta for dipping.
The calamari was light and fresh, not chewy at all. The fresh tomato sauce with it was excellent, with large chunks of tomato, and a fitting namesake for the restaurant.
My puttanesca was fantastic - delicious papperadelle topped with butternut squash, eggplant, golden raisins, and green olives, all in a very light tomato sauce. More of a winter dish, but tasty nonetheless. The parmeggiano on top had some bite and worked well with the veggies.
We weren't going to order dessert, figuring our hour was almost up and that we could grab some candy at the movie we were heading to. When we said wistfully that we'd try the dessert the next time we ate there, our waitress brought out two dishes for us to share... tiramisu and fig bread pudding. Both were amazing. The tiramisu was not the standard. The fig bread pudding was my favorite, using the same ciabatta (I think) that we were served earlier. The fig flavor was not overpowering, and it was served with a delicious melted dark chocolate. Mmm, I'm salivating just thinking about it now.
I was surprised to see so many negative reviews on this board, although they are all a year old or older. I'm looking forward to going back again.
