Good, honest grub around Otemachi?

I'm meeting a friend for dinner tomorrow night around Otemachi, and am looking for a restaurant recommendation. I used to work around there and the lunch options are okay, but I've never found anything too palatable after dark...mostly stuff along the lines of soggy pizza at a Western-style bar. Anyone know of an inexpensive place with a nice atmosphere where a couple buddies can enjoy some good food and knock back a few drinks? Suggestions from all Japanese food genres are welcome.
Thanks, Jake

    1. I don't know when you worked there, but Marunouchi has turned into a major restaurant centre over the past few years, and Yaesu has also kept up with the times.

I'd recommend Joshu Tokoton Club (http://www.bento.com/rev/2616.html) for good food on skewers and a very down-to-earth atmosphere. Doichan (http://www.bento.com/rev/2446.html) has a friendly Kansai vibe and an artfully tattooed staff. In Otemachi proper, you can try Drunk Bears (http://www.bento.com/rev/2621.html), which is more about the beer than the food, but is a cut above soggy pizza.
