ISO Ladyfingers for Tiramisu

I've always used the ones from Trader Joe's, but it seems like they stopped carrying them. They also did that to their house brand Nutella. Two products I bought a lot now gone.

World Market has a private label Nutella-like spread; less expensive and, at least to the casual consumer, indistinguishable from the real deal.

Come to think of it, they may have ladyfingers as well...

Yeah I hate when that happens. The nutella I think is seasonal so it will probably be back around the holidays. If it's crisp lady fingers you're looking for (those are the kind I like to use for tiramisu) I've gotten mine at Bristol Farms. In a blue box, I think called "boudoirs de la maison" or something like that.

Don't they have Nutella everywhere?? (ralphs, vons, etc...)

yes but TJ's own hazelnut spread is a seasonal thing (personally i prefer the taste of the mainstream Nutella)

Any Italian market... Monte Carlo in Burbank, Claro's in Tustin, Arcadia or San Gabriel/Rosemead, Bay Cities in SaMo...

thanks for all the quick replies. I've actually called TJ's, they said the ladyfingers are on backorder because they are so popular. The hazelnut spread is discontinued. I know they have nutella everywhere and it's my favorite. But since I'm from Germany I just can't pay double or triple the price for it, the stuff's so cheap over there. I know I'm being too cheap.

I'll look into World Market and Bristol Farms, thanks for the tips. Great to hear they have the crispy one at BF, I like that one better for my Tiramisu as well.

btw., has anyone tried TJ's Mascarpone cheese? It makes such a great Tiramisu at half the price of the imported ones they're selling at Ralph's, Vons, etc...

                TJ's Mascarpone is good.

Cost Plus also sells Nutella I believe...

GELSONS always has ladyfingers. Always. They are usually in the bread aisle!!

"Savoiardi" is a particular kind of thick-cut ladyfingers, not a brand name... but yes, they are the real thing.

Surfas has them and cheaper than TJs.
