Tresca vs. Prezza ?

We're taking some friends (hi guys!) out to dinner in the North End - are looking for something very special to celebrate. Two places high on our list have been Tresca and Prezza. Tresca seems to be run by the former owners of Trattoria a Scalinatella which we LOVED. I've seen good recs for both places here and wonder, if you had a chance, which would you prefer? Of course we are open to other suggestions too. Thanks!

I've heard that Prezza is louder and more about "chops" and big cuts of meat. What about Carmen?

Or skip that and go to Salts for the sure thing food and AMAZING service, closer to home?

Prezza does have a lot of grilled meats, but their pastas and appetizers are wonderful.

Prezza's new menu is amazing. I went there a couple weeks ago and they have half portions of pasta which are great for sharing.

I haven't been to Tresca, but was at Prezza a couple of weeks ago and loved everything about the place.

Prezza would be my pick. Lots of energy, excellent food, and a great bar with well-made cocktails and a nice wine list.
