Abbazia di Novacella 2006 Sylvaner

Has anyone had the Abbazia di Novacella 2006 Sylvaner (Alto Adige, Italy)? A friend had it recently at Lupa in NY and said it was beyond outstanding. I cannot seem to locate it at retail in the San Francisco area.

This August 8th Chicago Tribune story mentions Abbazia and three stores at which to find it,
    but they're in Chicago.

Did you call the importer, listed above?

Call the importer, Vias Wines, in NYC, (212) 629 0200, and see if the Sylvaner makes it to the West Coast.

If you're in Alto Adige, check out this Abbey. I did three years ago, and it really is quite something.

I was just at the Abbey 2 weeks ago and loved it. It's very beautiful, as was the walk from the Abbey to the nearby town of Brixen, passing through apple orchards most of the way. I tasted several of the Abbey's wines (Sylvaner, Kerner, Pino Grigio, Gewurstraminer) and loved all of them.

I still haven't been able to find the Sylvaner in SF, but I had the Kerner recently (2005) and it was excellent...
