Korean in Little Saigon?

Friends who live in Garden Grove have recently tried Korean food for the first time and have become instant addicts. Where are the best Korean restaurants in the Garden Grove- Westminster area? They want to try them all!

They should know that GG is the Koreatown of OC. it's the 2nd largest concentration of Korean businesses 2nd only to K-town in LA. so there are a ton of places, some that are better than those in LA. Apparently the area has been branded "Little Seoul". whatever.

My favorite is Hangari Kalgooksu. GG also has a branch of BCD and a bunch of other K-town places.

So many places with better soon tofu than BCD, the best thing about BCD are their hours of opereation.

Can you recommend any soon tofu places? My stand by is Kaju on Garden Grove and Magnolia.

Is that the one in the same strip center as California Market? That is where I tend to go. I really don't know the name of the place, we just say 'time for soon du bu" (not sure how to spell it).

That's the one. It used to be packed to the gills with a waiting list for lunch. We went recently and found it be pretty empty during the peak lunch hour. It makes me wonder where everyone is going for their fix? I've been to BCD, it's pretty empty at lunch as well.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel weird going to BCD when it's not 2am.

That's the only time BCD is good, b/c there is nowhere else to go! LOL

I have yet to really start exploring the Korean scene down there -- my wife was not into Korean food while pregnant and it's hard to go out for long times with a baby -- but stay away from Korea House on Brookhurst, it is low-quality AYCE food.

There's also a huge Korean community in Buena Park, which isn't that far away from Garden Grove... drive up Beach Blvd. and revel in the hangul.

There is another Lighthouse in La Mirada off Imperial and Beach. Me thinks that may be closer to you.

Lighthouse on Garden Grove Blvd across from California Market has really good BBQ and the tofu place in the same shopping complex as CA market is really good. There are many places to explore, I am still exploring too! Have fun and report back.
