Good Vietnamese in Chinatown - Anh Dao

I can't believe no one's raving about this restaurant at all!!!! The food is fresh, authentic, and packed with flavour~ Most people order the rice paper wrap platter (can be shrimp wrapped with beef, pork, spring rolls, shrimp paste on sugar cane stick, and beef/shrimp mix paste). The size of their vermicelli is always bigger than your head. Thicker cut of the rare beef in the pho comparing to other pho places around the neighbourhood. Majority of the clients are vietnamese families. Only one server (also the owner, aka cashier, aka floor cleaner), so the service can be quite slow sometimes. His son will normally help out if the TV doesn't have WWE on it. 383 Spadina Ave.

  1. I agree with you asessment. I believe I have mentioned them in the past - I'm a big fan of their pho. Although the last time we were there we got something with bbq pork that we didn't love (I think it was part of the rice paper rolls ups) - very fatty and tough (I have yet to find BBQ pork as good as at Mimi's - it's like candy).Otherwise, I give it an enthusiastic thumbs up.

    1. This was my favourite place to eat on Spadina when I lived in K-Market 20 years ago. Glad to see they're still popular.

But gone are the "traffic lights" on the sign :-)
I've never been in coz it's out of the way and looked like a hole in the wall. Will have to try it now.

hahahahahha, asian food, the dirtier the decor looks, the better the food tastes :)

I haven't been in many years and I've got a fantastic place right around the corner from me now in Parkdale, but yeah, the food was good back in the day.

        2. I am also a fan, actually I've always liked their BBQ pork!

          1. I know it's a VN restaurant, but try their Wonton Soup! It's amazing.... and i also love their beef wrap
