Banff, Jasper, Vancouver
If we can get our passports renewed (AHHH!) we leave in 10 days on a typical tourist route from Canadian Rockies then Vancouver. Surprisingly few posts recently on western canada and was hoping for some up to date recommendations. Here is what we'd like:
In Banff and Jasper:
mainly family friendly (12 and 14 year old kids, pretty sophisticated palates)
Combination of moderately priced and maybe one or two high end places if they are really worth the detour.
Any cuisine, except maybe indian.
Would love places with some local color (Trufflepig looks fun, for example). Also, casual lunch spots.
In Vancouver:
Recommendation for a "price is no object", great food, romantic setting kind of place, for my wife and I sans kids
Good sushi
Good dim sum
Casual seafood
Anything else that Vancouver devotees think we'd be crazy to miss.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
