I'll be in Biloxi for a weekend at the end of the month and haven't been down there since the storm. I'll be there on a guys weekend with non-foodies, so what are some good, mid-range places?

It has been awhile for me so I couldn't say for sure, but if I recall, the nightly specials were almost always very special!

Ruth's Chris has opened and Emeril has a new concept that has opened in Biloxi.

All of my old favorites in Biloxi are still closed (Mary Mahoney's has reopened though), but if you can head west a little bit there is Little Ray's on Courthouse Road in Gulfport for a great po'boy and cold beer, Vrazel's on Hwy 90 right in front of what used to be the Grand Casino (I think it is Island View Casino now) has really good food but it is kind of expensive.

If you keep going on Hwy 90 and cross the bridge to Bay St Louis there are a couple of old beachfront favorites that have reopened in strip shopping centers along the highway. One is called Ricky's (New Orleans style seafood- huge portions- try the appetizer sampler), and Tripiani's which is a little more high end but wonderful, at least it was pre-Katrina. Don't miss the fried green tomato appetizer!

Ended up going to Trapani's. It was hopping, and we had a great meal. I had trout almandine (a special) which was terrific. Thanks Clarkafella -- this was a great choice.

Glad you enjoyed it! I hope that they get back into their old location soon- it was an old building across the street from the water. It was wonderful to eat a great meal and then take a stroll along the beach....
