Dinner in downtown San Diego?

I'm going to be in downtown San Diego this weekend and was looking for a restaurant that has good food and a relaxed atmosphere but nothing too stuffy. I'll be with a group of extremely loud girls so I was looking for something fun and loud WITH great food. Any suggestions?

Hope I'm not too late to chime in....Red Pearl Kitchen is great for a group of girls. Lots of great apps (tuna and eggplant is delish!) and fun drinks. If you like it a little spicy, try the Jade Mistress....the best drink I've ever had!

I'd recommend Red Pearl Kitchen, Chive, or second Confidential or Stingaree. Maybe even the Gaslamp Strip Club if you like steak - but be aware you have to cook your own on a grill. Have fun!

Someone asked a similar question a few days ago so you should search and look for that thread.
Since you didn't state age or price point it is sort of a vague question but for 20-early 30's scene with good food I would suggest Confidential or Stingaree. Both turn into super trendy clubs after the dinner hour so you can just stick around. Be advised that you will probably need reservations.

Modus should fit the bill. I guess that's uptown, but close enough.
