last day in sf, need help w/ itinerary

moving out of california in a couple weeks, and am planning one last foodie adventure (for a while anyway) with my BFF (best foodie friend/best friend). We have long been planning on trying bi-rite creamery. and will probably also squeeze in a trip for some cow-girl creamery cheese at the ferry building (possibly resting at the wine bar there for a while... gotta keep up stamina).

but we still need to find a place to eat lunch and maybe some other interesting places to nosh in between. I welcome any suggestions. we'll have a car and will probably be in the city from say 9 or 10am to 3:30pm.

only exclusions, no chocolate tastings (my bff doesn't like it)... but other dessert/coffee places would be nice. and well, price is flexible as this will be a last "fling" for a while. oh yeah, and we prefer a place that doesn't mind two friends sitting and taking up a table for a while.

thanks in advance,
megan

wow, that's a tough one.I think I'd be torn between two places if I were leaving California. Assuming that you are going somewhere that doesn't have Asian food that's as good, I'd probably gorge on dim sum at Yank Sing or Ton Kiang, getting as many of the splurge items they offer (the black bass at Yank Sing is incredible). This would be expensive, but distinctly San Francisco.

Alternatively, my other option would be to drive to Vik's chaat house in Berkely - though they only do their dosas on weekends, which makes weekday visits much less worth it.

And of course, if you are near the Ferry Building, my third option would be Boulevard, where lingering would be especially delicious, in so many ways.

    Have fun!

I'd go to Myth Cafe for lunch then Kara's Cupcake in the Ghiradelli Square for cupcakes (haven't tried Kara's but chowhounds seem to like it, this is the 2nd store, don't know if they have chairs/tables but u can always carry it out to the Square to eat).

Maybe Tartine on 18th and Guerrero.... bake their goods right there as you can smell the croissants half way down the block... crowded but yummy...
