Take-out chicken near East Houston?

Fida Jun 6, 2007 06:38 AM

I need to grab some grilled or fried chicken in the vicinity of the Film Forum this evening, and I'm trying to avoid KFC. Any suggestions?

East Houston or West Houston? Film Forum is on West Houston?

I seem to remember Blue Ribbon Bakery doing fried chicken if you want a sit-down place.

Omigod, you're right. Sorry. That is West Houston, not East.

No, I want take-out. Preferably cheap take-out. We're sneaking it into the movie.

Hmmm. Wouldn't the smell tip someone off? I'm having a hard time imagining eating fried chicken in the dark.

Dirty Bird To Go, perhaps? Or calling Pink Teacup and seeing if they do takeout (never been so I'm not sure)?

I called Dirty Bird, but they're expensive! $10 for a half-chicken! Oh, well.

By the way, not only is chicken easy to eat in the dark, but I'm so expert that I can eat biscuits with HONEY in the dark!

You could try the new Whole Foods. Don't they have rotisserie chicken?

I don't know whether they have chicken, but I don't think they're anywhere near the Film Forum. Also, I hope not to have to buy an entire chicken.
