Fresh Garbanzo Produce Truck in Salinas
Reading the update on rworange’s post on the garbanzo bean truck in Richmond,
http://www.chowhound.com/topics/313442 , I was delighted to discover one parked at the curb in front of 724 East Alisal Street about 3:30pm today. The hood had bushy bundles of garbanzo beans on the stalk, and more were hanging from the back of the vehicle. Here’s the photo I took of the pile inside.

No prices were marked and I didn’t ask. I suspect that they’re negotiable per rworange’s advice. This truck also had cherries (doubles), corn, and mangoes.
The white truck had no identifying signs. The CA license plate 2P27527 and this address match permit holder, Roberto Hernandez.

Great picture. Really, you can see how last year I had no clue what was being sold. It looked like bushes. I put your picture in my Richmond report and a general query on fresh garbanzos
