This is obviously news of great concern to our community. The problem is that we can't allow Chowhound to be used to publicize "causes" and such (and we were starting to get flurries of such postings, which we've removed). If we allowed that sort of thing, there'd be no end to it, and you definitely wouldn't want to see lots of that here. You come to Chowhound for chow tips, and so we try to stay focused narrowly on where to find great chow! As we state in our Posting Etiquette:
-----
"Chowhound is about food, and it's supposed to be relaxed. We don't get into "big picture" issues. There are myriad online forums for debating politics, ethics, and other hot-button issues; please use Chowhound not to debate but to share news and tips."
-----
This is news that affects Chowhounds. But the issue is politically loaded, so we're closing this discussion to further response in order to keep the news and not the politics.
