Gonzo or Crispo?

Two couples will be meeting for dinner on a Saturday evening. We want to be able to catch-up and have a decent dinner. Doesn't have to be over-the-top or a place to be seen. Just want a nice atmosphere and a moderate menu.
Which of these would you recommend, or do you sugget another place in the Village?
Thanks

Da Andrea is an absolutle Gem located in the West Village - in the same area as Crispo and Gonzo. I've been a couple times and all the dishes I've sampeled have been amazing. Most recently my gf and I had the squid ink pasta with some of the freshest clams either of us have tasted and the gnoccheti with gargonzola sauce - a crowd pleaser to say the least. If you can save room for dessert and walk over to Roccos for a terrific cannoli on a nice night.

Been to Crispo twice. First time (several years ago), the food was oustanding. The second time (more recently), it was pretty Blah.

I would chose neither one, and go to Cacio e Pepe in the East Village instead.

For any number of reasons (overly heavy food, loud atmosphere... I could give my details if you'd like...) I would NOT recommend Gonzo at all.

I haven't been to Gonzo, but I have been to Crispo several times and have not been disappointed.
