Birthday dinner for 2 single women

Would love to take a friend to a special restaurant tomorrow night. Somewhere downtown, reasonably priced, fun atmosphere for 2 single women... any ideas?

    Supper is great Italian in the east village. If you are looking for a fun atmosphere/bar scene I would try Pastis in the meatpacking.

      You can also try Alta for Spanish tapas and drinks. Very reasonably priced and great for sharing food among friends. Located in East Village.

      If you do a search on Alta you will find some recommendations on dishes from other hounds.

          Just to add on (as I posted to another thread):

          Momofuku Ssam / Noodle Bar for Asian Fusion
          Crispo / Otto / Lupa for Italian
          Degustation for a great small plate tasting (a bit of a stretch but doable)

          Freeman's is reasonable and offers a fun atmosphere. I also like Landmarc in TriBeCa and August in the West Village.

            Crispo is reasonable- 2 starters & 2 dinners plus a bottle of wine fed 3 of us for $120 with tip!

                I would definitely look on opentable.com to see what is available tomorrow night. Without knowing what you mean by reasonably priced, I would recommend Artisanal (always bustling, even on a weekday), Avoce, Crispo, Eleven Madison, Gotham Bar and Grill, Paradou, Red Cat. There's a 6:30 P at Perilla (Top Chef Season 1 Winner's new restaurant) that has received great reviews.

                    Hey, solarlane,

                    Since people can differ substantially about what "reasonably-priced" means, it would be helpful if you would give us your per person budget, and tell us if that figure includes alcoholic beverages, tax & tip.

                      I would like to spend under a $100 for dinner for 2, wine & dessert w/ candle. Around $30-50 per person. Thanks everybody!!
