Am I the only person who think On the Border is awful??

Angelina Jun 4, 2007 08:50 AM

Don't ask me why I ate here last week. (My friend picked the place.) The rice was sticky and tasted so old, the refried beans were super running. My enchaillada's had barely any chicken and about a pound of cheese on it. It was so bad!! I thought maybe for a chain it would be decent, but was I wrong!!!

I've only eaten there once so I don't like to be too critical, but after that one time I have never ever had the desire to return for anything.

Ate there once.....completely bland and boring...perhaps the worst Mexican chain I've ever been to.

IMO, they are the worst of all the chain Tex-Mex places I've tried. I think I've eaten there two or three times at the request of friends and I've never enjoyed myself. I don't even like their chips and salsa, which is saying a lot!

I'll second that. Compared to this place, even Chevy's looks good!

I was going to ask exactly that. So they're *worse* huh. How do they compare pricewise? Oh, how was the service? FYI, we don't even do Chevy's

                price - about the same
                service - OtB was worse

we don't go to either anymore

They basically have no fat or grease in the food. It is not advertised as "healthy", but it oddly has all the foods made that way. Even the chips ...which I watched being fried...when put in the basket, lined with paper, and the paper had no grease spots on it.

Our family tried out On the border last summer and we weren't impressed. It was pretty awful. I do happen to like Chevy's though, if you get what they're good at. I love their fajitas and chips and salsa. I've been by there several times just to pick up a pound and a pint, as they call it.

Once was one time too many. Everything on the menu was over spiced. Nothing there, that was not super spicey!
Same cause I pass it everytime I am out looking for a place to eat.
