Taqueria Guadalajara

I want to tell you this place has a mean burrito. They grill the tortilla after rolling the burrito, have delicious carne asada, stewed chicken (white meat in a light tomato sauce), and chile verde (those are the meats I have tried). Also they have 2 types of salsa verde. One is painfully hot and delicious. It blows the other Mission taquerias out of the water. It is located on 24th Street & Shotwell Street. I hope this place stays in business, because it is new. Hence this post.

I ate at the 24th Street location back in January and I wasn't too impressed. It didn't really stand out to me as being better than any of the other places (San Francisco, San Jose, Cancun, etc. etc.) However, this was when they first opened, so I wouldn't be surprised if things have improved. Here's the link to my Jan post:

I've actually noticed that it's usually quite crowded when I go by, so that's a good sign too. Thanks for the update

It's actually the second Taqueria Guadalajara. The first is a smaller place in the Excelsior district at the corner of Mission and Onondaga, near the Post Office. This has been my favorite taqueria for a while. I particularly like their lengua tacos and chile verde burritos. They also serve a "ranchero" (I think that's the name) burrito that doesn't contain rice and comes with a red sauce -- it reminded me of some of the burritos that I used to get when I was a grad student in Claremont (southern California.) I also like their small salsa bar -- the green avocado-based salsa is really delicious as is the salsa fresca. And, finally, they serve freshly squeezed orange juice -- one of my favorite drinks.
