Las Vegas for older people

My parents are on their way to Las Vegas (bowling tournament) and were happy enough recently with my findings on some other boards here to ask me to look for LV recco's. They are in their 70's and Mom would like to avoid chains, while Dad will likely make her do at least one trip to IHOP. They are staying at Sam's Town and will have their car.

I've spent some hours trying to look through the listings here. Some, but not a lot applies. They don't want good value in terms of large portions because they just can't eat that much any more. That rules out buffets too. They really would be happier sharing, and it is unclear where that is okay, except some mentioned sharing steak at n9ne? They may prefer to have a nicer meal at lunch, when it is less expensive anyway, and just graze or have a drink and apps for dinner. They will hate super loud places, I guess, moderate okay . They will never order $30 entrees, I don't think. Father can be full after an artichoke. Mom loves sweets but is trying to be moderate.

Dad has aquired the annoying habit of ordering things in restaurants that are not on the menu. The primary items are shrimp cocktail and sliced tomato salad. We are no longer amused at the hoops staff has to go through to try. So Mom would love some places he can get a decent shrimp cocktail. They love a bargain too, but I'm sure they want at least one nice meal to take a friend out for.

I have printed off the $5 off prix fix lunch coupons for Rosemary's and am encouraging a trip there for lunch or small plates dinner. LOS sounds like a good bet as Dad loves Asian and especially noodles (but they can get that in LA.) Duly noted are the Lucky 7 and the Ellis Island cheap steak deals. Looking for:

-moderate priced if it is worth a trip
-shrimp cocktail, please
-bargain eats
-healthy gourmet for Mom
-alternate to IHOP for Dad
-good early bird or seniors meals or bar food for dinner
-great dessert for Mom
-an excellent Martini, the old-school way

Thanks and I will report back. That is just so valuable here.

A great place for your parents that meet most of their requirements would be the Peppermill.
They offer a SENIOR MENU......a terrific breakfast menu (Alternative to IHOP)
The portions are large enough to Share
The have a fabulous cocktail lounge w/ great Martinis.....
They have steak and Shrimp Coctail on the Menu

Sounds right up their alley, I've passed that info along. Heard of this place but didn't know it had shrimp coctail and lounge too.

I hope you didn't take it that I needed all those things listed in one place, though this certainly seems like it has it all.

I don't think Peppermill is the Place for Asian Fare or noodles.

If your parents drive down Spring Mountain Rd you will find lot's of Asian Noodle Options, Pho Restaurants.....as well as dim sum!
You are best to do a search on this site.....

Noodle Asia is located inside the Venetian Hotel next to the Sport Book....They offer a variety of Noodle dishes and Pho's....it's wonderful!
