1) Tomodachi - largest roll selection in Westwood with basic atmosphere.
29 - Fresh Rolls - #1 Jalapeno Spciy Tuna 8 pieces = $5.95 (from 2 yr old menu).
16 - Cooked Rolls - #7 Dragon Rolls $12.50 most expensive on menu.
20 - Tempura Rolls2) Ami - 1051 Broxton (1/2 block away) - nicest atmosphere.
24 rolls - Heart Attack Roll = spicy tuna, avacado & jalapeno = $?
3) Itz Sushi - westwern end of Kinross 2 doors west from Fat Burger
#? rolls - they didn't have any togo menus available.
There really is no "excellent" sushi in Westwood.
Maybe try Ami or Tomadachi first, order 1 roll and if you're not happy then go try the other one 1/2 block away. Ami has several booths you can get a party of 4 into, whereas Tomadachi does not. Itz has booths.
I would avoid:
Asuka
Tengu
isshin
ALCU - Closed for the time being.
For Tuna.ISO Fushion I haven't tried yet.

No not really. I think a good idea would be to use the search funtion above for westside Sushi and find the review or comments that best appeals to you. "Excellent" sushi thats reasonablly affordable is IMHO a very personal thing taking into consideration taste-to-value evaluations versus your favorite more expensive nirvanna sushi experiences.

The last time I was there was about five years ago. Since then they have cleaned up the outside. As I recall it was decent and cheap, although we went there for the booze and no I.D. check.
There's a mini-chain called California Roll and Sushi on Westwood by the Rite-Aid. We used to go there for cheap sushi lunches - it's not bad for the price.
