My Fredo (?) Cheesteak joint in Pasadena or Altadena

anyone have any clue what's the correct name and location? supposedly they have pretty darn good cheesteaks here.

I've had their Super (mushrooms, onions, peppers) twice now and it was great both times. Well-seasoned meat with no gristle, lots of crisp veggies, with white American cheese. The first time I did end up with a bone chip, though. It was about 1/2 a centimeter. I've also had their 1/4 pound char-dog, which was delicious as well.

It's on Lake, just north of Orange Grove, on the east side of the street - street parking can be a bit tough (depending on the time) but there's parking behind the building - basically (driving north), cross Orange Grove and pass the parking lot for the corner strip mall, then turn right into the next driveway (I think there's a covered arch that you drive through).

The cheesesteaks are pretty much excellent - oh, and they now carry the Tastykakes thingies, if that's your craving. Can't recall if they have Whiz or not, though, sorry. (Tell Dan you've read about the place on CH - he'll be happy.)

After your cheesesteak (providing you've still the room), continue north on Lake a couple of miles to Altadena - hang a left (west) on Altadena and then turn right (north) into the Rite Aid parking lot - Bulgarini Gelato is on the east end of the complex, in a courtyardish area.

I went there a few days ago and some of the flavors where increadable, but the strawberry and one other was icy. There was also this, just strange vibe, it was middle of the day and not real busy, but I felt like i was disturbing them. I will go back if I am in the neighborhood, but to make a trip from Silver Lake, no! I will continue to support my local guy, Scoops on Heliotrope.

There is another Fredo's that sells pizza, I believe, which is the cause of the confusion.

The default is some sort of white cheese, but you can get it with Whiz if you ask. The proprietor will make it any way you like.

I was curious for real, do you not like the burgers, or where you joking, I just love them, as I do Cassells, Yanakais in SGV, The Bucket, I want to try the one at the persian place in/on Westwood. Blvd.. Still have to go to Sean's and see what is shakin there.

I like their burgers (I've had em at 2 locations--when they had 2). In fact, I got a parking ticket once just to get one to go with fries. Unfortunately, I don't get to that area much these days.

Yes, Fredo's PIZZA is on Colorado and Mentor, next to PresidenTwo. Fredo's cheesesteaks is on North Lake just north of Orange Grove. Do a search of Fredo's on this board and you will come up with a few posts.

On Lake, just past Orange Grove if you're coming from the 210, on the east side of the street. Offstreet parking in the back of the little mini-mall it resides in (take advantage of this!)
