What is the best Sea Food Restaurant in San Diego?
I thought we could all share a few of our favorite Sea Food places here in San Diego and maybe we'll all learn some place new try. I'll start out.
Millie Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe is always a favorite and offers some of the best food in the city. Prices are, of course, extremely high since it is in Rancho Santa Fe but the food is top notch.
Roppongi is a tried and true stand by which offers pan-Asian cuisine with a new twist. I've heard some people complain that the place doesn't stay true to just one style but that's part of the appeal Roppongi has. They mix and match things creating enticing new combinations.
Tutto Mare a great restaurant but vastly over priced.
Star of the Sea used to be known as a tourist trap but with a new chief the place has really taken off. I loved their halibut with foie gras.
Cafe Pacifica near old town serves up the best abalone in town. The rest of Old Town has gone down hill since they got a company from New Jersey to run the concessions but since Cafe Pacifica is outside of the park it still has some great food which made Old Town famous. Now if we could only get the Park Service to fire that dreadful east coast company and bring back Casa de Bandini.
What are your favorites?
Mille Fleur seemed to always have seafood on the menu which was well crafted so I included them on the list. Basically, I'm hoping people can trade some of the names of their favorite sea food oriented places (or at least places which serve good sea food along with other stuff) and maybe we can all learn a couple of new places to try out.
How is Pacifica? I've liked the one in Palm Desert (Pacifica in the Desert) but haven't been to the original.
