Saigon Grill -- still under siege?
I recall a while back that Saigon Grill was in a tangle over labor and wage issues, and there was a steady protest going on at their UWS location. Can anyone tell me if this is still going on, or if it's been resolved? I'm from out of town and I want to know whether I should bother putting them on my list of things to do when I'm in the City in June. Also, I'm not keen to cross a picket line. Thanks!

I adore Saigon Grill - it's one of my top 5 restaurants in NYC, honestly. Incredible food, cheap prices. The one on the UWS is open, and there's a new branch open in Union Square that's huge. I'm anxiously awaiting the UES opening. Very disappointed about their labor and wage issues, but I'm not sure it is enough for me to boycott...

There's Asia Grill on the UES (2 and 65?). I don't know if it's the same owner, or if the restaurant is merely "related" like all of the Grand Sichuans and Ray's. The vietnamese menu is nearly identical, down to graphics and typeface. The green papaya salad there is exactly the same as the one on Univ as well. The quality of food there is consistently non-toxic, but not incredible.

Horrible food there, all labor problems aside.
There is a decent Vietnamese place in Chinatown called VIETNAM.
