looking for good food in the financial district
Any recommendations for interesting, excellent restaurants in lower Manhattan?

A place that never gets a mention in the list of usual suspects but deserves one is Tajin on Greenwich St between Edgar and Rector.
Canteen style Mexican, no frills decor but decent food at low prices from huevos rancheros in the mornings to burritos at lunchtime to fajitas in the evenings.

Tajin has an "upscale" cousin named La Bamba on Greenwich St. just a block or so south of the World Trade Center. A bit fancier food, but in the same spirit. Problem with Tajin is the quality of service -- low -- and the crowds, which can be hard to deal with. La Bamba has good service and rarely a crowded dining room.
