fish sandwich store - college st.

I had a shrimp sandwich that I devoured in 2.2 seconds at the fish sandwich restaurant on college street.

Does anyone else have another recommendation for another fish sandwich restaurant to check out.

I just noticed this place, looks like it's worth a try, how does it cut it on the fish selling side?..it is a store that does sandwiches, not a little resto only, right?

They do have other things beside sandwiches... Burritos, soups, salads topped with the fish/seafood of your choice. I believe they will also sell you any of the fresh fish they stock, but I'm pretty sure you'd be paying a premium. Based of my experiences with their fish it's probably worth it, though.

the butternut soup is good - likely out of a box though. a couple of my friends have said to avoid the burritos though because they don't compare to the sandwiches.

Again with domestic goddess's assessment, their sandwiches though tasty are not very filling. I'd imagine having to spend at least $20 to get a complete meal, which is a bit much for a quick bite to eat at a sandwich stand.

They have a freezer with fresh fish on ice along one wall, a grill on another wall and maybe a couple of seats at a "bar" area. Great for a snack or you can sit outside in the "patio" (four seats??) if the weather is nice.

Really excellent fish sandwiches! I don't know how they make money with such a small enterprise though, so I hope the locals will keep on supporting them to keep them around!

I am a sales rep, so I often find myself in the downtown core, looking for a good sandwich. There was a while, that I found myself going to the fish sandwich shop for the shrimp sandwich A LOT. I have never found another sandwich quite like it. I tried the scallop sandwich..not quite the same. What a great little find...

One of the best "restaurants" in Toronto. They only do a few things but they do it better than anyone in this city. Incredible.

Go to Leslieville to Cajun Corner - the fried shrimp and catfish combo po-boy is one of my great pleasures in life.

The Fish Store rocks! I usually have 2 sandwiches. They just opened a small front patio to boot!

I happen to go into the Cajun Corner...to check it out, right after a (yummy) meal at Reliable Fish and Chips. Next time in that neighborhood, I will check out that po-boy!!
                thanks for the recommendation.

It's called "the fish store" and it's on the south side of college, west of Grace.
