Buffet Restaurants in or around Newmarket, Ontario

Hello... ok, let's say first off, I do not like buffets. However, my parents want to take all 20 of the kids and grandkids for an anniversary celebration so buffet dinner it is. We want to go somewhere in or around Newmarket. Any ideas? Thank you so much.

For many of my friends and family who still live in Newmarket, the Canaan Chinese Restaurant buffet at the 404 Plaza seems to be the go-to place for big group meals.

Why this is, I can't really say, because I recall going there as a child and even then I didn't think it was very good. But it has been there for decades so they must be doing something right, huh. Apparently they renovated a few years ago and it's "nicer" inside now, so I assume that means no more fluorescent lighting and green carpet.

I was just there on Monday, it was my daughter's birthday and she insisted on going. It is really a middle of the road buffet, standar chinese and " canadian" items. On Friday, Saturday & Sunday they do have both hot and cold crab legs.

I found it marginally better than Mandarin. Call 'em the same for arguements sake.

You could try The Buttery it is located at the corner of Yonge and Davis in the main level of the hotel ( can't remember the name) I know they have a brunch buffet but not sure about dinner. I lived in the hotel for three weeks when we first moved to Newmarket and were having work done on the house. It is a family owned place, the food is good quality for your dollar and the staff make you feel at home.
