[PDX] Portland Snow Cones?

Nate Maas May 29, 2007 11:11 AM

Where are they? Where can I get some? It's hot and summery and without snow cones, my life feels cold and meaningless.

Thank you in advance.

They had them at Oaks Amusement Park during the Multnomah Cty. Fair - don't know if the park has this concession full time or not? I remember they were really overpriced!

Another place to call is the Hawaiian style restaurants in PDX and Vancouver (at least they might be able to point you in the right direction).

I don't know if you want to do them yourself, but you can buy a shaved ice gadget at an Asian grocery store for under $15 and syrups are all over this town. We use ours to make chendol and ice kachang, but the shaved ice the gadget makes can just as easily be used in a snow cone.

Ohana Hawaiian Cafe on Sandy and 63rd in NE has shave ice that's very good!

I just had a snow cone this past weekend at the food trailer in the Washington Park Rose Garden.

The Sellwood Pool has GREAT snow cones during the summer! Very affordable and GIANT for the price! It's a little bit of a ways to get out there but very worth it!
