It's Monday eve and I send this to you all from room 424 at the Salish Lodge. The river is roaring and the fire cracklin and ..life is good tonight!!! I want to express my sincerest thanks to all of you out there that provided me w/ eating establishment suggestions. I loved EVERY one! In ELLENSBURG - the YELLOW CHURCH CAFE BBQ chicken sammy on the heavenly loaf was all that and more..The DAKOTA CAFE....I still taste the wonderful vege soup and avocado/vege cheese sammy- the bread was tadiefor!!! Clean eatin! In SEATTLE: OASIS BAGELS in Ravenna was a huge hit with the crowd. We were 8 with 4 children! I had the Rocket something or other-they didn't have chicken so, I asked for turkey. YUMMO! And, all agreed. My friends from Mercer Is. have a new place to go to now! We drove to Brinnon for the shrimp fest- A big BLECH on the fest but, had some killer oysters and clams. Then the drive through the Peninsula with a stop at Hamma Hamma Oyster Co. was worth the trip! Fell upon Elmers for a German Pancake in Tacoma - that saved the day!
Also, in SEATTLE - we went to STEELHEAD DINER - Incredible place. Kevin Davis, master chef and owner, made special arrangements for my dear husband who insisted on a cheaper breakfast meal of eggs and bacon. It wasn't on the menu - NOT at 1:00p but, Kevin was gracious enough to accommodate and our server was a gem! I had the delectable whole manila clam chowder! Needed nothing else. That and their amazing bread with a cup o' joe - I was very happy. Went to CAFFE ZINGARO for a late night treat - triple Americano and black sesame butter cookies. YUM! Husband loved their chocolate mousse Tower. Tried to get to Pike Place Chowder -closed when I went. Also tried Joanna's Soul Cafe off E Cherry. also closed :( . Then on our stroll to Snoqualmie we went to SEA STAR in Bellevue -Looked fab and, I'm sure it is but, way out of our budget so, we left, went around the corner and settled for Cheesecake Factory...oh well.
Tomorrow, will try for Salumi and p/u a couple of sammys for the plane ride home. Thanks again all! This really helped round out a great trip!

If ever coming to L.A., please let me know, I'll be happy to reciprocate! :) :) KQ

Did go to SALUMI -

Not too impressed. I arrived in the afternoon - the staff was not too friendly, they had NO more margarita sammy's and ran out off mozz. cheese and tomatoes. So, had a funky made up vege. Hubby had a house salami and cheese. Yeh, they're good, but NOT @ 10$ a piece!
