Beef ribs in the SGV...?

My husband has requested great beef (not pork) ribs for Father's Day. Any ideas? We'd probably go on Saturday night to avoid the actual Dad's Day madness. We live in Pasadena so somewhere in the general vicinity would be terrific, but we'd venture into LA if need be. Thanks!

Many thanks for the Canyon City recommendation. We took my husband for Father's Day last Saturday night and loved it. A very original, charming roadhouse. The beef ribs were great, I had the pulled chicken which was delicious, thought the tri-tip was a bit dry. The corn bread was the best I've ever had - almost "creamy." The owner came over to say hello which was a nice touch. Note that they close at 8 p.m. on Saturday's - not sure about other nights - so check before you go. We'll be back. Thanks to ipsedixit as I'd never have found this place on my own.

    2. How about Hawaiin style beef short ribs, Shakkas in Alhambra makes some good ones, that and some bacon fried rice and spam masubi, its all good bra!
