wedding present dinner

I am looking for a nice restaurant that I can by a gift cirtificate at as a wedding gift for an LA hound. As I live in NY I am not up on the new and interesting restaurants. Thanks.

  1. Here are a few favorites:

    Los Angeles-

    AOC
    Sona
    Grace
    Hotel Bel Air

Not trendy, I went there for the first time Saturday night, is Carlito Gardels on Melrose. The food was terrific and it was very romantic. The service was great. They have a website.

There are so many to choose from!

    1. The Peninsula Hotel I think is the Best Choice!!! The food is UNBELIEVABLE and the Service is THE BEST in Los Angeles! The Belvedere
here is a link if you want to look them up:

      1. How much are you looking to spend? My favorite is Providence, but it is rather expensive. My second choice would be Grace--expensive, but less so. I like AOC a lot but I feel that it wouldn't be a good wedding gift--not a romantic atmosphere, and less special occasion-y than the other suggestions.

I would add two LA restaurants more to the mix:

          Hatfield's
(here is a review from the LA Times: http://www.calendarlive.com/dining/vi...

          )

          Table 8

        2. If your friends are into sushi, there ain't no better gift than table for 2 or should I say counterspace for 2 at Urasawa, assuming you want to spend the $$$.

Also, chef's tables at Providence, Table One (Hotel Bel-Air), Meson G, or Patina...

          Love Grace as well.

Love the idea of sushi, but Urasawa is a little (and by a little I mean a lot) beyond my budgit. Any other sushi places? The Hump?

            2. i got my foodie friend at gift certificate to hatfield's as a christmas present

I don't know if there's a single dish at Hatfield's that I am over the moon about as much as the total experience of the restaurant as being a suitable wedding present .
