Macadamia Nut Pancakes

We'll be on Oahu the end of this week and my wife has visions of macadamia nut pancakes floating in her head. She has never been to HI and is beside herself. Don't want to disappoint her, so where can we go to get these pancakes? Does Wailana Coffee Shop have them? We're staying at Hale Koa, a short walk from Wailana. Thanks!

  1. If you don't mind a short (but very pretty!) drive up past Diamond Head, the Plumeria restaurant at the Kahala Hotel has macademia nut pancakes at breakfast time. Haven't tried them myself, but everything else I've had there has been good! It's a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it - plus it's RIGHT on the beach, and a lovely place to spend a leisurely breakfast or brunch!

    1. wailana HAS THEM!!!!! i usually get the all you can eat with portuguese sausage... although i can only eat the 3 they serve you.. the pancakes are huge.... very very tasty... i've referred others there, and they fall in love with it too =)

make sure you let your wife try the honolulu cookie company cookies (pineapple shaped...) it's to die for =)

Thanks, guys! I can easily do as much damage on Portugese sausage as she can on the pancakes...

      2. Wailana has good pancakes. You might also check out Eggs 'n Things which is right around the corner on Kalakaua near Ena Road.

A new place opened on either BeachWalk or Lewers in the last week or so, their pancakes were featured on a news blurb. I don't know the name of the place, but your concierge can probably tell you.

It is not all done, but enough is done a lot of businesses are moving back in. I think that for all intents and purposes they will be done sometime late this summer. They had a grand-opening of the ewa (west) end sometime last week. Wasn't paying enough attention to the news, so sort of caught the tail end of the story. I should really go check it out myself.
