Chicago dining on Memorial Day - impossible?

Anyone have suggestions for finding Chicago restaurants (city) that are open on major holidays? Memorial Day to be specific? I've been checking websites (metromix, citysearch), but details about the holiday are not posted. I've called about 8 places already and all are closed.

Try some ethnic options.. chinatown, albany park middle eastern, lincoln square thai, etc.

Oftentimes, a hotel-based restaurant is your best bet on a holiday. You might try Custom House, Avenues, or Zest, for example, depending upon what you have in mind.

Here's places that I've called and are closed today: May Street Market, Blackbird, Carnivale, Marigold, Nacional 27, Boka, Cafe Spiaggia, and Mulan. Luckily, not everything is closed. Gibsons and Hugo's Frog Bar on Rush are open tonight as well as Le Colonial. Seems like restaurants near shopping are still serving today. Thank goodness!

Open Table is your best bet, I think. Choices are definitely limited on the holiday, but that's relatively speaking (71 restaurants list availability on or around 7:00 tonight). Good luck.
